Polis III Nona has officially assumed his role as the new patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Baghdad, succeeding Cardinal Louis Sako. He takes leadership at a critical time for Iraq's Christian community, which has dwindled from 1.5 million to 150,000 since 2003.
