Thousands joined the annual Fanti Carnival in Lagos to celebrate the Afro-Brazilian heritage of descendants of formerly enslaved people who returned from Brazil in the 19th century. This year’s event highlighted the blend of Brazilian, Portuguese and Yoruba cultural traditions.
